Balmy autumn sunshine greeted the BSN Turvens as Voorburg hosted at Te Werve.  Mats, Noah and Zachary made their debuts for BSN, and Max returned to the squad following the classic sofa-cartwheel-collarbone injury at the start of the summer holidays!

BSN were slow to get going in the first game against Voorburg, but stirring words from coach Ian at halftime heralded a strong second half performance.  At final whistle it was honours even, 7-all.  Trys scored for BSN by Bobby (3) , Matthew (2) and Max (2).

The second match against a strong Voorburg team included a great exhibition of tagging skills from Mats, who made a brilliant series of try saving tags and also scored a try on his debut.  Zachary, spurred on by the promise of ice cream, also made a number of great defensive tags.  Henry was causing the Voorburg defense all sorts of problems with the lines he was running and together with Marcos they both came close to scoring on a few occasions.  Axel picked up where he left off last week with great running down the wing to score and Bobby and Matthew (2) also crossed the line.  In the end the pace of the Voorburg team and a couple of turnovers were enough for Voorburg to win 7-5.

BSN played HRC in the final match of the morning.  Shepherd, Trym and Noah linked up well together and played a key part in feeding the eventual try scorers.  Max’s new discovered pace saw him run/cartwheel in 3 trys on the wing.  Matthew also crossed the line and Henry picked up a brace.  Kudos also to Zachary, who crossed the line in the right hand corner, but was judged to have been in touch and the try was cruelly disallowed.  BSN victory 6-5.
