After a fantastic season for our U14 Cubs who won the Plates during the regular season, the best way to close this year chapter is to enjoy a day at the beach and participate in the North Sea Rugby Beach tournament. Loyal to its reputation, the 2025 edition was a great event and success for the Wassenaar Warriors as both Minis (U12) and Cubs (U14) won the tournament in their respective age group. Well done all – congratulations as it is a big achievement.

Now, zooming into our Cubs performance: What a day… and an amazing performance from an amazing group. Every club enjoy beach rugby but it is fair to say from the past seasons that our Wassenaar Warriors enjoy more (Minis won also the 2024 edition) and they clearly make it visible across each game they play. Last Sunday was our Day. We knew the journey will be long and we said it in the morning during the 9:30 am briefing in the club tent. The sand, the intensity of the games, the sun, the waiting time between games … all of this impact how fresh you are physically and mentally. Our Cubs Warriors were stronger physically and mentally and played their 8th game (the final) like it was their 1st.

We prepared well for that day and they won. In the end, it is one solid group who train hard together, smile together and celebrate together. I am very proud of this group and about what we have managed to achieve this season. These are special moments which will stay and won’t be forgotten. All the efforts and dedication are paying off. Thank you to all of our players as they don’t play for us but for them and it should stay like this. This season was fantastic, well done team.

Well done also to the North Sea Beach Rugby organization for once again a great event, a solid organization and good quality refereeing through the weekend which was not unnoticed.

As we will break soon for summer, few players and family will leave us and the journey will continue with the others. I believe the journey will continue to be very exciting, no doubt about that as the Warrior’s spirit is strong and travels well across age groups. As every season we are welcoming new players and families to our Club whether they played before or are new to Rugby. All are welcome. Don’t hesitate … give it a try and you will love the atmosphere, the club rugby culture and the warm welcoming from the staff and our international players.
