Youth Rugby Referee Course on May 11, 2025
We are happy to announce the second edition of our youth rugby referee course for players aged 12 to 17 (Cubs, Juniors and Colts) on Sunday May 11, 2025. The course is aimed at developing skills and knowledge in the art of refereeing. The course will be delivered by referees from Wassenaar Warriors and will cover essential topics such as the laws of rugby, effective communication, decision-making, and conflict management.
The course will include both theoretical and practical training, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience for all participants. We believe this initiative will not only enhance the participants’ understanding of the game, but also foster personal growth, leadership, and confidence.
Wassenaar Warriors International Rugby Club is a community-based youth rugby club that promotes the sport of rugby among children and youth in the Netherlands. The club has members ranging from 6 to 18 years old, who participate in various teams and competitions. The club also organizes social events, fundraisers, and volunteer activities for its members and their families.
One of the club’s goals is to develop the skills and knowledge of its young players. Not only as players, but also as referees. Refereeing is an essential part of rugby, as it ensures the safety, fairness, and enjoyment of the game. Referees need to have a good understanding of the laws of rugby, as well as the ability to communicate effectively, make quick decisions, and manage conflicts. To achieve this goal, the club offers this course for its players aged 12 to 17, who are interested in learning how to referee.
