The BSN Benjis returned from the Christmas break with a trip down the A13 to Sparta.   Twenty two players were available for match day, and in wet slippery conditions, the teams recorded 5 wins and 1 loss.

BSN1 beat Sparta         7 – 4

Brilliant beginning and concentration to beat a good Sparta team.  Trys for BSN: Lars (2), Matthew (2), Axel, Oliver & Luke

HRC beat BSN1            8 – 2

In the second match, BSN were brought down to earth by a strong HRC team that tackled hard.  We beat them last time at home in a memorable match, but more commitment is required to win against arguably the best team in the area.   Trys for BSN: Lars (2)

BSN1 beat Hookers      13 – 4

BSN1 picked themselves up for the final match against Hookers in the worst conditions of the morning.  Really great team play to win against the Hookers.  Trys for BSN: Diego (4), Ethan (3), Luke (2), Axel, Harry, Lars, Max & Oliver.

Special mention to Electric Ethan for great running, Marvelous Max who switched on to run like the wind, Magic Matthew – cool running, Harassing Harry who stopped the opposition scoring on several occasions and Dancing Diego – stylish lightning!

 

BSN2 beat Hookers    13 – 4

BSN2 beat HRC2  14 – 3

BSN2 beat Sparta  7 – 5

Ball playing by the team was accurate and very exciting, feeding our expert flying pair of wingers Daniel and Lukas 6 tries each, topping the leader board, again, closely followed by Alex and Joseph with 5 each. Great passing from William, Santiago, Joseph, Trym, Alex and Bob. Turn over ball was a big factor with ball stealing highlights from MengMeng, Jonathan and Joseph.  Most importantly the defence was excellent. The flat line and tackling was better than expected. Special mention to Jonathan leading the way there and was fully focused all day. Iggy (2 trys) and Trym (3 trys) made try saving tackles with Santiago, Joseph,  MengMeng (1 try) and Bob (1 try)  making most tackles. Joseph and Alex gave an excellent display in all areas of the game and Jonathan (2 trys maybe more) distroyed everything in the middle. A mention for Santiago (3 tries) catching at speed with Iggy. Everyone earned their place and tried really hard to play great rugby. Great team effort and performance.  Very entertaining.
