On Saturday October 30th, 2021, Turvens went to HRC and played against HRC and VR-C. Due to the impact of the half term break in the Netherlands, we could only sent 2 teams. At the end, we had 6 wins out of 6 games!

  • Team I: 12:8, 7:5, 10:7; 42 tags and 10 double tags were pulled.
  • Team II: 8:6, 12:5, 10:7; 25 tags and 5 double tags were pulled.

Head Coach Gavin commended: “16 of our Warriors arrived full of energy and enthusiasm at HRC on Saturday morning, and the wet weather did nothing to dampen their spirits. There was a lot of camaraderie in the teams, with the second years continuing to support the first years as they grow in the game. The basics are really starting to come together and we have some clear focus areas to work on this week in training to improve even more when everyone is back from mid-term break. Overall a great morning of rugby, with 6 wins from 6 games in what was the wettest and muddiest match day of the year so far. Great stuff!”

Indeed, for the first year players, it was their first time to play in the rain. It was challenging but they overcame the discomfort caused by wet and cold weather. We have now entered the second quarter of the season. The weather is getting harsh. I think our young Warriors are well prepared.
